Want to create a frosted design on your glass work? Than try acid etching.
Acid Etching is the process of covering glass with an acid-resistant protective layer, scratching on a design, and then applying a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and potassium fluoride to etch the pattern into the glass. This results in shiny, matt or frosted decoration of the exposed area. An important note for fused glass artists: Hydrofluoric solutions are not effective on iridescent glass.
Artists can purchase glass etching supplies from various vendors but one place I know of is Armour Products. They've been around for 25 years and can be found at http://www.armourproducts.com/
