Happy New Year Glass Artists! Ok so maybe it's three days late but it's the thought that counts right? So I went to Art Basel Miami this year...errr I mean last year (it was only about three weeks ago) and all I can say is wow! So how can I sum this art fair up? It was spring break for artists. It was the Lollapalooza of the art world. It was Mecca for the creative. Are you starting to get my point?

The only thing I found disappointing about the fair was the surprising lack of glass art work. There were some nice pieces I saw at individual galleries but there didn't seem to be a lot. However, there was something like 22 satellite shows going on so I probably could have missed a bunch. If you were there and saw a bunch then shoot us an email we would love to hear your thoughts.

On a different note there was quite a celebrity turnout this year. Combined are group alone saw Iggy Pop, Steve Martin, Mandy Moore, and Lucy Liu cruising the art scene. So in conclusion if your ever get a chance to go to Art Basel Miami then jump on it. You won't be disappointed.
