Glass is unusual.."How is glass wierd?" you ask.Glass is unusual because the manner in which its visxosity changes as it turns from a cold, rigid solid into a hot liquid. Unlike metals which flow or 'freeze' at specific temperatures, glass softens as the temperature rises, going through stages of malleability, until it flows like thick syrup. Each stage of malleability allows the glass to be manipulated into various forms. After the glass is manipulated and set aside to cool it then takes on its final form. Because of it properties glass is more amenable to a grater number of heat-forming techniques than most other materials.
