Painting Glass

Glass can be painted in a variety of different ways depending on the look that you are trying to achieve.

Some such ways include using luseters or paints that are based either in laquer, water, or oil. If price is not a factor than I recommend using paradise paints on your glass artwork.

So lets take a closer look at these types of decorating glass.

Lusters - These are painted on the glass. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying. Once dried the glass is then fired to maturing temperature.

But what is a luster? Well in short it's an organic solution that has a base and/or precious metals. This is then dissolved in organic solvents.

Once your glass piece is fired the solvent is burned out. This then leaves your desired luster attached to the glass surface.
