yard-of-ale: A type of ale glass with a trumpet-shaped mouth, a long and narrow neck, and a small, globular body. So-called because they were often one yard (three feet) long, these objects contained about one pint and functioned like trick glasses. The yard-of-ale is an English form, which came into use in the 1680s and continued into the 19th century.

yellow glass :Chromate of lead and silver act as the primary coloring agents in producing a deep yellow color within glass.
